The MPF Bases for Horizontal Split Case Pumps are modular pouring forms designed for use with mechanical equipment that requires a concrete inertia base. MPF Bases are available in 6" and 10" thicknesses and come pre-assembled. The bolt-together design, comes complete with isolator brackets, seismic isolators, anchor bolt templates and rebar cut to size. They can be shipped assembled or in a "knock-down "configuration for field installation or inventory and stocking. The modular forms are galvanized sheet metal which also serves as the finish on the outside of the pouring form. When MPF Bases are filled with concrete, they become an inertia base and provide an effective means to isolate vibration and limit the motion of horizontal split case pumps.

MPF Bases for Horizontal Split Case Pumps are t-shaped in size and are engineered to support the base elbow of the suction and discharge piping from the pump. The isolator housings are identical in height within each series and come with easily accessible bolt holes for simplified installation. An elastomeric acoustical cup eliminates high frequency vibration, while color-coded springs permit ease of identification of load capacity. Spring housings have internal adjustments for use in most seismic and wind applications. Their rugged steel housing is designed to handle high wind and high seismic forces up to 2.0g.

Features & Benefits

  • VMC MPF Series Modular Pouring Form inertia bases are available in 6” and 10” thicknesses. The bolt-together design comes complete with isolator brackets, anchor bolt templates, and 3/8” rebar cut to size
  • When selecting an MPF inertia base, we recommend that the thickness be a minimum of 1/12 of the longest dimension of the base, but not less than 6”. Should a base greater than 10” thick be required, use our WPF Series Welded Pouring Form
  • Seismic capacity up to 2.0g
  • International Building Code® (IBC) compliant

Applications

  • Pumps
  • Fans
  • Compressors
  • Chillers
